Working 7.30am-7.30pm for a family of four (Mum, Dad and two daughters aged 7 and 10), duties included cleaning, washing laundry, ironing, online and in store shopping, menu planning, cooking healthy meals, driving the family to school, clubs and train stations, dog walking, sewing, shoe polishing, supervising the girls homework, meal time, bath time and play. Part time
Lice Assassin
Worked for award winning innovation in Camden for six months, and would never have guessed that relieving children and their guardians of head lice, could be such an interesting and satisfying job. Really enjoyed my role as Lice Assassin. I was in contact with children of all ages on a daily basis at The Hairforce so a CRB was required for the job.

Afternoon Big Sister type Nanny/ Cook
Working from 3pm -7pm Monday to Friday I was responsible for collecting 12 year old Nicky up by car and taking him home (or to after school activities). I then cooked for the whole family, cleaned the kitchen, and socialised with Nicky and his 16 year old sister Lexi, until Lora (or her husband) came home. I also helped with other chores such as sewing buttons on garments, ironing on name tags, tidying bedrooms and sweeping dead leaves in the garden.

Part Time
Waitress / Assistant Chef
Working at this high profile catering company as both a Waitress and occasionally as a Chefs Assistant, I have learnt a lot of transferable skills. For example, I have learnt how to cook fancy dishes and canapes to a deadline, and in tern my time management has improved. As well as this I am more aware of the importance of working as a team to achieve a successful result. At times I am put under a lot of pressure, but watching my peers has taught me how to remain professional and perform efficiently, even when a mistake has been made. Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and St James' Palace, are a few of the many venues in which I have served fine canapes and drinks.

Cleaner and Room Attendant
Working part time as a cleaner and room attendant for five years at Coombe House & Cottages taught me the importance of organisation, punctuality, hygiene, and above all, how to make people feel welcome and important. The 5-diamond accommodation had to be spotless and inviting throughout all seasons. Whilst working for the Scharenguivel's I was praised on several occasions for having an eye for detail and a house-proud attitude.

Cleaner
Cleaning all types of buildings from private residence and holiday homes to doctors' surgeries and office blocks, I gained knowledge on how to care for silver wear, expensive upholstery and the most aesthetic way to make a bed.
Driving from one place to the next meant that I had to manage my time efficiently.

July 2003 - October 2004

Play Worker
During the school summer, Easter and half-term breaks of 2003 and 2004, I worked as a play worker for 5-11 year olds. The play scheme meant that working parents could leave their children in a safe and fun environment when school was closed. I used my artistic skills and imagination to keep the children occupied from 8.30am-6.30pm, ..every weekday. It was exhausting but rewarding when I heard children begging their parents to let them ccomeagain! The job enabled me to improve the way I explain things and share my knowledge. Teaching children also involves giving clear instructions and having patience, both of which I am capable of.

Housekeeper
I really enjoyed working for Celia and Alan Hart as they treated me like one of the family and they really appreciated the housework that I did for them, for four hours each week. Since relocating to London Celia and I have kept in contact and she has told me that she hasn't had any luck in finding someone as thorough and enthusiastic about cleaning as I am. Last July (in Celia's large family home), I ensured that her daughters wedding ran smoothly by greeting guests, feeding the band and helping the caterers.
