- Are you not worried that this new service will take away business from your traditional agency?
No. This service is for clients who do not need or want to use a traditional agency. We are offering an excellent alternative to finding household staff that has not been available before. It will also encourage more candidates to register with us due to the increased chances of finding a new position due to increased exposure. Our consultants will then have access to an increased number of candidates who we can contact about jobs available in our traditional agency. A win/win situation! - How much money can I save using Marshall Harber Exclusive Online Staffing (MHEOS)?
You can save thousands of pounds using our online service. Typically our traditional agency commission fee is 16% of the candidate's annual gross salary. For example, if you were to employ a housekeeper on a salary of £400 net per week you would incur a placement fee of £4,500 (excl VAT). With our online service, you could source a housekeeper for as little as £250 (excl VAT) this equates to a saving of £4,250. The savings can become even more dramatic when you deal with higher salary earners such as Butlers and Chauffeurs. - Can you disclose the Candidates identity to me?
We never disclose a Candidates name, email, telephone numbers or address to any third party. Contact is only possible by two methods - text messaging or email - in both cases via our specialised online forms which encrypt a Candidate's contact details. Our forms act as a "go-between" passing messages to the Candidate from the Client. Candidates are only ever referred to by a reference number - never their names. All contact is conducted anonymously. - If I register with MHEOS, do I have to talk to a recruitment consultant?
No, only if you choose to use our traditional service. Marshall Harber's consultants are always available to you should you prefer to use of our full recruitment service. - What if I don't find any candidates on the site?
You can view our candidate's CVs before making payment. You only need to commit to the fee if you would like the option to contact them. There is no obligation to sign up if you don't find what you are looking for. We are constantly adding new CVs to our database at a rate of approximately 50 per week so we are confident that you will find the staff you are seeking. - How do I contact a Candidate?
Alongside each Candidate's CV is a facility that allows you to send a text message to their mobile phone or an email to their computer. We recommend that you always use both the text and email service as some candidates may not always check their email but they will almost always have a mobile phone with them. (At all times a Candidate's identity is kept private until they choose to reply to you). - How many Candidates can I recruit and does the cost increase or decrease as I recruit more staff?
If you wish to employ more than one type of staff (i.e. you are looking for a Housekeeper, Butler and Chauffeur for you home) you will need to purchase access to each personnel type. If you purchase them at the same time as part of a package bundle, we offer a discount against the additional packages purchased. For example, if you purchased a month's access to Housekeepers, Chauffeurs and Butlers, you would pay the standard Fee of £250 for the first personnel type and £150 for each additional category. Our candidates are sourced through our traditional agency, screened for relevant previous household experience and verified by a telephone contact. Candidates CANNOT upload their own details to our database. Our staff only accept candidates with the relevant skills and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role. This ensures that only suitable household staff are found on our online database. On average we are adding approximately 50 new Candidates to our database every week. These Candidates cover a spectrum of personnel types including housekeepers, butlers, chauffeurs, nannies, chefs, cleaners, house managers, PAs, gardeners, mother's helps, handymen, ladies maids, security/bodyguards, all with a wide variety of skill areas. They vary from extremely experienced individuals to candidates that have a minimum of two years previous experience in a similar role. - Do I have to use MHEOS during office hours?
No, you can use our online service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can access the database in your own time without having to rely on the working hours of recruitment consultants. - Do I need special software to use MHEOS?
No, you just need an internet connection and your computer. - How do I search for Candidates?
Just follow the simple instructions you have on screen as you navigate through the site. You can use the basic criteria to start your search and then refine the skill areas to pin-point your exact requirements. Always remember that the more specific you are, the fewer candidates will be returned in the results. If you are having trouble finding a candidate using your search criteria, go back and widen your search a little by removing details that are not vitally important as this will most likely return more results of suitable candidates than if you are too specific. - Is there a maximum number of Candidates that I can approach and recruit?
No. Once you have paid your registration fee you may contact as many candidates as you wish. If you have purchased packages for more than one personnel type you can contact as many Candidates within those categories as you want to for the allocated time period. We actually recommend that you contact as many candidates as possible as this will improve the number of replies that you will receive. Avoid contacting only one candidate as there is always the possibility that they have taken another position or will not be suitable upon having interviewed with them. Contact and interview as many candidates as possible to make sure you find the right member of staff for your home. - Is there an additional charge if I recruit more than one candidate from a particular category?
Absolutely not. Once you have paid your registration fee you can contact as many candidates in the selected category for a month (or longer if you have purchased an extension). There is no limit to the number of Candidates you employ from each selected category whilst using this service. - How do you source your candidates?
We invest significant time, money and resources maintaining our traditional agency's profile in the market place ensuring that new candidates are constantly contacting us wishing to register or to refresh their existing profiles. We are thus able to provide a constant supply of candidates seeking employment in private service that are more than likely the same candidates that you would be offered through other traditional agencies charging a premium. - Can I send both a text message and an email and which method would you recommend?
Yes, you can send both or either one. Candidates are more likely to have their mobile phones with them at all times and can respond immediately. A small number of our candidates unfortunately do not make use of email but we ensure that they all have a working mobile phone number when they register with us. We encourage you to use both methods to maximise you chances of receiving a response. There is no charge for these services. - Am I told the name of the person that I am contacting?
No. The Candidate's identity and personal contact details are kept private at all times. You simply send your message (using our customised online forms) explaining you have a vacancy and ask the Candidate to contact you. It is then up to the candidate to respond to you and volunteer their details. - Who pays for the text service?
We do, as part of the service we offer you. - Will I be notified of new additions to the Candidates database?
You can search our live database at any time to view any new additions or you can set up a "Candidate Alert". To set up a Candidate Alert, simply use our online form to specify the type of Candidate you are looking for. Once an alert has been setup, you will receive an email containing links to the Candidate's CV that match your criteria as soon as candidates matching your criteria have been added to the database. - Does it cost extra to advertise my vacancies through your service?
No, simply send us your job description (including salary range and location) and we will post your vacancy onto our network of Internet job boards, including our own traditional agencies websites - Marshall Harber: Exclusive Household Staffing, 1st-Agency and Exclusively Nannies - plus other 3rd party job boards that we use to attract Candidates to our agency. As suitable candidates are registered, you will be notified using the alert system (See FAQ 18 for details of Candidate Alerts). - Can I print the CVs?
Yes. Each CV has a button next to it which will provide a "printer-friendly" version. - What if Candidates do not respond to me when I text or email them?
Candidates are looking for work. The job market is fast moving so it is possible that a Candidate may already have found work and may not respond to you. We do encourage all our Candidates to respond as a matter of professional courtesy but unfortunately we are, of course, unable to enforce this. Approximately 50 new profiles are being added to the database every week. This is why we highly recommend that you contact as many candidates as possible that suit your requirements to ensure a good response rate and greatly improve your chances of finding a new member of staff. - What if a Candidate turns out to be unsuitable for my home or decides to leave?
This can happen with any method of hiring staff. You can only make every reasonable effort to interview and assess each candidate before making your choice. The good news is that with our online service you are not loosing high agency fees when Candidates turn out to be unsuitable. You may wish to purchase additional months when you first register thus extending your service for up to four months to guarantee that you have a longer period of time to ensure you have made the right choice and possibly arrange for a trial period. This would allow you to log-in and continue your search with no additional charge if need be. Even with the additional cost of extending the package you purchase when you register with us, this will still be vastly cheaper than paying another traditional agency fee. - Why should I use MHEOS instead of a traditional recruitment agency?
Quite simply, you stand to save thousands of pounds by eliminating costly recruitment methods. Until now you have only had 3 ways to recruit staff for your household:
1. Approach someone you know personally - excellent way, but not often possible!
2. Advertise in the press or on the web - OK, if you don't mind wading through all the totally unsuitable CVs that will come pouring in, perhaps yielding the occasional suitable candidate.
3. Use a traditional recruitment agent - Excellent way to source staff, if you don't mind paying the fees!

a. You can now have direct access to our ever increasing database of dedicated household staff currently seeking employment.
b. You can view all CVs before you commit to the service.
c. You select only the Candidates that are suitable for your position.
d. You know that only staff with previous household experience and relevant skills will be on our database.
e. Candidates cannot upload their own details to our site. - How do I know your CVs are up to date?
Approximately 50 new CVs are uploaded to our database every week. Every month all candidates receive an email asking them to inform us if they wish to remain "live". If they respond to this email or update their details their online profiles will appear at the top of the searches with all newly added candidates. We never remove candidates' CVs from the online database unless they specifically request that we do so. The reason for this is that even though many candidates may have a position, they often wish to continue to receive information about new opportunities. We list all CVs in a chronological format keeping the newest and freshest at the top of your searches and slowly working back towards the older CVs. The website also clearly lists how old a particular CV is and groups them into relevant time scales. - I am already advertising my vacancy on several employment websites and in the media so why should I use MHEOS?
The right calibre of household staff is constantly visiting our websites to view our current available jobs due to our agency's high profile in the domestic market. Your vacancy will be seen by the right people. You will not have to wade through the numerous unsuitable applications that will be flooding through your door! You will receive an alert when a CV is logged on that matches your job description. Our websites are professionally optimised to ensure our job boards will always be found by candidates seeking a new position. Our strength lies in the quality of our Candidates - the fact that our candidates are derived out of necessity, i.e. our traditional agency relies on us having the best, up to date Candidates, whereas a job site simply needs volume regardless of the quality. Job websites are passive receptacles for CVs and concentrate on attracting quantity, not quality. - How can you offer this service at such a low price?
Because you are doing the work normally carried out by a recruitment consultant! We are offering you access to our screened candidates but then it is up to you to contact, arrange interviews and check credentials and references. This helps us to keep costs incredibly low which allows us to pass the savings on to you, the client. - Have all the candidates been interviewed and reference checked?
We guarantee that all the candidates available online have been screened for relevant previous experience and verified with a telephone check. A large number will also have been interviewed by our consultants and reference checked. If you require candidates that have already been interviewed at length by our consultants at our offices in Kensington and fully reference checked please contact our traditional agency and our consultants will be happy to assist you in finding suitable staff. - Is it permissible to use both your online system and the traditional agency services supplied by your parent company, Marshall Harber Exclusive Household Staffing and Exclusively Nannies?
Yes. Our online service is entirely separate from our traditional agency service. Please be aware that our traditional agency will charge the full rate of 16% commission on the annual gross salary on each staff member you employ. Should you receive candidate details from our traditional agency and subsequently employ that same candidate using our online service our database monitoring system will flag up this event and you will be liable to pay the full agency commission to our traditional agency.
